Revolution Release Exclusive Dave Gibbons Interview
Dave Gibbons is probably most famously known for his work with 2000 AD, and his collaborations with Alan Moore, including the Watchmen miniseries. But another piece of important work that is often overlooked is his contribution to the 1994 point and click classic, Beneath a Steel Sky, for which he created the background art.
With the Revolution: 25th Anniversary Collection coming out in just a few days, the company reached out to Gibbons for an exclusive interview about his contribution to the game. The interview forms part of the 6-episode company history documentary, which comes as part of the anniversary package.
“Over 25 years we have build a passionate and loyal community of which we are hugely proud. The collection includes extensive footage covering Revolution’s history over this time, with interviews from key team members as well as creative partners such as Dave Gibbons, Barrington Pheloung and the English voice of George, Rolf Saxon.” said Charles Cecil, CEO of Revolution.
As well as the interview, Revolution has also launched a competition on their Facebook page inviting fans to create a ‘Mashup Revolution’ stop motion video depicting what would happen if characters from different Revolution games meeting were to each other. Prizes include T-shirts, Broken Sword memory sticks and, for the winner, a unique 6 foot * 4 foot print of the original fresco painting used to make the trailer for Broken Sword 5: The Serpent Curse.
