Rocket League Bringing Snow Day Among Other Features To Xbox One

Rocket League Bringing Snow Day Among Other Features To Xbox One

Now that Rocket League is finally on the Xbox One, there are still a few items missing that are on the PlayStation 4 and PC versions. Though that should change soon, according to developer Psyonix, adding Snow Days and much more in the coming months.

In a post on Rocket League's official website titled "Xbox One Roadmap", the developer lays out the future plans for the game's newest console. The reasons several of the features were not released with the game was due to the Microsoft certification being already submitted before they were released on to the PC and Playstation 4. As the Xbox certification takes a while, adding the features would have delayed the release of Rocket League on to the Xbox One.

The first feature to be added will be Snow Day, a hockey mode, where the soccer ball is changed into a puck. Though it sounds like a simple change, the puck has different physics and will make a difference in paying as the strategy and timing will change. This feature will be added to the non-competitive online play sometime next week.

The developer also promises a "quality of life" patch which will address bugs or crash that have been reported since the release. No word as to exactly when this will happen.

By the end of March, the Mutator Mashup online playlist that brings several pre-created Mutator combinations like Cubic or Pinball to the network scene will be added. Depending on how Mutator Mashup and Snow Day are received by players, will determine whether one or both will remain.

All three versions of Rocket League will be featuring the same playlists and features "by the time April rolls around", the development studio states. Community flags and other Garage items will be also be added, with more details to be released at a later date.
