Save Sloth Studios and Yogscast Games Explore "What is The Royal Writ?" in Latest Trailer

Welcome to the world of Aranfold, a bustling fantasy medieval world of animals that is being raided by a Bandit Leader. After a strongly written letter by King Mikolt the Second doesn't stop the thieving, it's time to take action into your own paws.

Roguelike deckbuilding meets an almost Auto Pets–like gameplay style in Save Sloth Studios and Yogscast Games' The Royal Writ, as players will head out into the paper-styled world to fight across three lanes and defeat the bandit threat. Following the age-old tradition à la Slay the Spire, you'll gather cards, prepare builds, and work your way through a small map to fight each region's boss in order to stop the Bandit Leader.

There's a catch, however: when one of your cards dies in battle, it'll be a permanent round death, meaning that you lose it entirely. The Royal Writ encourages intelligent play, knowing when to bring out fighting cards and how to move them around the battlefield to ensure your victory.

If it sounds like your type of game, then we've got good news — The Royal Writ recently received a release date trailer! Linked above, you can check it out, but if you're only interested in the launch date, you'll be able to pick up the game on the 7th of August for Windows PC via Steam! If you'd like to try it out right now, you can try the free demo available.
