Season 6 of PUBG Brings a New Map and a Fresh Survivor Pass

Season 6 is coming to PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, bringing a new map, never-before seen gameplay mechanics and a fresh set of unlocks with Survivor Pass: Shakedown.

The new map, Karakin, may be relatively compact (four square kilometres) but it still spans a variety of environments and offers some significant gameplay tweaks. Up to 64 players will fight across farmlands, ports, factories, urban streets and underground tunnels. These environments differ to those players will be familiar with: their buildings are susceptible to bullet penetration and can be breached with explosives, meaning that no location will be truly safe. On top of this, the new "Black Zone" brings a unique, dynamic threat to the game. At any point, an area of the map can become a Black Zone, meaning that the buildings in that area will come under fire from aerial bombardment. Needless to say, players taking shelter in those buildings stand to face a swift and gloriously destructive demise.

A new season, of course, brings with it a new Survivor Pass. In Survivor Pass: Shakedown, players can complete over 400 missions to unlock skins, emotes, Battle Points and XP. A Premium Survivor Pass will also be available on Steam for $9.99 or console for $14.99/1,000 G-coin. Owners of the Premium Survivor Pass will gain access to a selection of exclusive challenges and rewards, although no additional cost will be required to access most of the pass' content.

PUBG Season 6 and Survivor Pass: Shakedown will launch on PC 22nd January. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will receive the content soon afterwards on 30th January.
