Shovel Knight Title Receives Free Weekend and an All-time Low Discount Alongside New DLC Public Beta

The Shovel Knight franchise has been a long-standing indie contender that has gained the hearts of many. While the mainline games have been a huge return to retro classics with epic modern takes, that's not where the series ends its reign.

Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is a title by VINE and Yacht Club Games, where you'll delve into the series in an action-packed puzzle adventure! Deviating from the platformer genre, this puzzler title will instead get you through waves of enemies through grid-based combat.

Bumping yourself into enemies in a mixture of puzzle, action, and roguelike isn't all that awaits you, though. You'll also be able to select from more than 10 different characters of the universe, each offering a different playstyle, and play other modes, like Daily or two-player Versus.

Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is having a free weekend right now, including a 75% discount that'll let you continue where you left off. But if you thought that's all that the team had in store, you'd be wrong.

The free weekend beta invites players to give a shot to the new, upcoming Pals Pack DLC that'll be arriving to Steam later this year, alongside its Online VS Mode. The DLC will be bringing new challenges, hats, items, characters, and even an endless mode, alongside plenty of additions, like Quality-of-Life improvements, and more.

The free weekend is available until Monday, though no official time has been given for the closure of the event.
