Sims 4 Shows Off Brand-New Build Mode

Maxis has shown off its updated Build Mode in the latest gameplay trailer for The Sims 4, which introduces a more tactile and intuitive style of design for players.

In their trailer for Create-A-Sim two weeks ago, Maxis introduced their new style of gameplay, which focuses more on click-and-drag than the series of menus used in The Sims 3. From this newest trailer, Build Mode follows the same methodology: players can select preset room shapes, then drag them to change the shape and rearrange the layout. Sims 4 has also given players the ability to alter wall height and move windows and wall decorations vertically for more design options.

 The trailer builds the Goths' ancestral home, a fixture of the Sims franchise, and demos most of the updated Build Mode's features. The Sims 4 will hit shelves this fall for the PC.
