Sonic Rumble, the New Free-to-play Battle Royale, Releases to Mixed
Sonic Rumble is the latest game developed and published by SEGA. This free-to-play battle royale is set in Dr. Eggman's Toy World, and players get to embody various characters (including the mastermind himself) and experience many iconic scenes.
Despite that, the Steam reviews are nearing Mostly Negative, with a 45% Mixed score. Many of the complaints seen in the reviews are to do with the number of microtransactions and their price; namely, there are skins, Buddies, subscriptions, and battle passes. Another major complaint seen among the reviews is that there are too many deals pushed to players, even just upon booting the game.
On the flip side, those who are recommending Sonic Rumble praise its free-to-play nature, mentioning that the skins only help advance in Rank by boosting experience. There's mention of the game feeling smoother to play than what they expected, especially for a mobile title.
Sonic Rumble is out now.
