Spirit City: Lofi Sessions Officially Became Part of the Lofi Girl Universe!

Ever since the game’s release back in April 2024, it has received over 11,000 reviews and accrued a score of 96% Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam. This isn’t surprising due to the constant love Mooncube Games has poured into their title through the various free content updates and the two DLC (one that is coming up shortly).

The latest news to hit the community is one that Mooncube Games seems hopeful about, as the developer team has stated that they’re thrilled to announce this amazing new partnership — the acquisition of the studio and the game by Lofi Girl.

This is what Mooncube Games had to say about it in their email,

This collaboration marks more than just a partnership,  it’s a natural fusion of two creative worlds with a shared vision: building peaceful, uplifting spaces for students, gamers, creators, and anyone in need of calm respite in their day.

For anyone who might not know, Lofi Girl is a French YouTube channel that became an independent music label back in 2017, and it’s best known for its 24/7 lo-fi streams. They’ve done more than that, of course, as they also have merchandise, music licensing, publishing deals, and more.

So, what does this mean for the game moving forward? Well, the collaboration officially begins on the 25th of August, when various curated Lofi Girl tracks will become available in Spirit City: Lofi Sessions. The original team that created the game will continue to be the developer, and they’ve mentioned that nothing about the title or the studios’ core values will change: it will remain an indie entry devoted to kindness and cosiness. What is in the works is more content and more music, with perhaps even some surprises, which was hinted at!

Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is available now on Steam, and its upcoming DLC — Spirit City: Lofi Sessions - All Aboard — will release on the 25th of August.
