Square Enix Developing a New IP For Next Generation Hardware

The Square Enix Japan recruitment website has announced that the First Development Division is working on a brand-new IP, meaning that the studio is currently juggling another large scale project along with the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Very little is known about this new project, with the website not even revealing a title or a project name. However, it’s stated as being a “next-generation action game experience,'' that will be supposedly taking “a step forward from the existing action game framework.” Knowing Square Enix’s development cycles for large projects, don’t expect this one to come out until the next generation is well underway.

Square Enix’s next upcoming title is a Western release of the Romancing SaGa 3 remaster, which is set to release on 11th November for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, PC, Android and Apple Devices.
