Star Wars: Uprising Announced For Mobile
Disney have announced a new free-to-play Star Wars game in collaboration with Lucasfilm and mobile developer Kabam. Titled Star Wars: Uprising the game is set in the universe's new canon after the events of the original trilogy. It reveals what happens after the battle of Endor and the death of Emperor Palpatine.
You play as your own created character in dungeon crawler like settings, scouting for gear and teaming up with others. Fans will be pleased to know that there will be no paywalls of any kind or pay-to-win mechanics.
Locations in the game include Hoth and Bespin's Cloud City and Daniel Erickson (former creative director of Star Wars: The Old Republic at BioWare) has teased the appearance of particular characters.
"You will definitely see particular people make appearances," he teased. "[But] they are not the stars of this thing. The most controlled storylines are obviously what's going to happen to that small handful of people. We know what's going to happen to them, so we can include some of that stuff, but we are not trying to tell that story."
Star Wars: Uprising will be released for mobile devices and has a release window of Autumn this year.
