Steam To In-Home Stream(ing)
Most people these days have multiple computers, a fact that obviously hasn't been ignored by Steam.
Already in a closed beta, Steam have a service which can stream a game from your fully specced beast of a PC to your lower-end laptop or even Steam Machine. Just load up Arkham Asylum Origins in your living room, head to your bedroom and play using your laptop - all of the gaming, none of the lumpy office chair.
It really is that easy, according to the In-Home Streaming Troubleshooter:
How do I use it?
The Steam In-Home Streaming feature is currently in limited beta, so you must have received a beta invitation via e-mail before you can use the feature.
Once you have received your invitation, you can start streaming in 3 easy steps:
- Opt into the Steam client beta on two computers.
- Login to the Steam beta client on both computers with the same account.
- Go to the computer where you want to play and start playing your game.
