SteelSeries Launch Rival 500 Mouse Aimed At MOBAs and MMOs

SteelSeries Launch Rival 500 Mouse Aimed At MOBAs and MMOs

SteelSeries have released a new mouse, the Rival 500, designed around giving you enough buttons within easy reach as possible making it ideal for MOBAs and MMOs. With a total of 15 buttons in a more ergonomically friendly layout than the grids of the past you should have plenty of options.

The Rival 500 features a combination of regular buttons along with flick down switches around the thumb area to allow for quicker activation along with multiple buttons alongside the traditional left and right mouse button spots. The optical sensor offers up to 16,000 CPI giving you a lot of customisation when it comes to sensitivity.

The mouse also has SteelSeries Prism RGB Illumination support so you can make sure it fits in with the rest of your gear by changing the colour of the mouse wheel and logo. Tactile Alerts will also give you tactile feedback you can configure so you can feel a variety of vibration patterns for situations in-game.

The SteelSeries Rival 500 is available now for $79.99/€89.99. You can find out more information over at SteelSeries' own site here.

I've always wondered why mice don't have a vibration. Seems that someone has worked out how to implement it.

Yeah having just vertical vibration to stop it jostling about is quite interesting, I wonder how well it works!

That looks really rather quite smart for a MOBA / MMO mouse.

I like the design, I'd have to have a hands-on to see how I feel about the thumb "switches" but it looks neat!
