Summer Game Fest 2026: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin
Everything is gritty and dark. Shots of a swerve with graffiti all over it and a city that clearly needs a hero to save it. The title card starts: “From the studio that brought you Bayonetta and NieR: Automata. PlatinumGames”. Then we get the obligatory slowed-down version of an old song, but it’s not just any song. It’s the theme tune to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Yes, the heroes in a half shell are going dark à la Batman Begins.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin looks to be a very different kettle of Ninja Turtles game. There’s no gameplay footage yet, but the trailer — dripping with moodiness and brooding vibes — suggests that we’re in for an experience darker than midnight and more moody than a My Chemical Romance show.
