Super Mario Bros. 35 Available Now for a Limited Time

Who's the nimblest plumber of them all? Let's find out. Super Mario Bros. 35 is out now, free for all Nintendo Switch Online members until the 31st March 2021. And no, we don't mean that it ceases to be free after that date; we mean that it ceases to be playable after that date. That's right, this is a limited-time game. Interested? Check out the trailer above.

Announced during Nintendo's "Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct" on the 3rd September, Super Mario Bros. 35 is the 35-player "online battle game" (read: battle royale) based on the classic Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The premise is simple: You and 34 other players begin on stage 1-1 of the 80s classic. The objective? Get further than all of them and, if you can, make it to the end. That's not all, however. By defeating enemies, you'll send them into competitors' games and vice versa. It's Super Mario Bros. by way of the earlier (and superb) Tetris 99.

We can't wait to jump in; it's just a shame that we've only got 6 months to do so.

Super Mario Bros. 35 is out now for Nintendo Switch (exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online members).
