Super Neptunia RPG is Coming.

Hyperdimension Neptunia is a roleplaying game series from Japan made with a shoestring budget by a team of people extremely dedicated to making things with cute girls and a loose appreciation copyright law.

The series centers around the anime girl versions of popular gaming consoles coming together and facing off against threats to the world of Gamindustri. This new game, developed by Canada-based Artisan Studios, follows that formula, but is taking the series in the direction if 2D Dungeon-crawler spinoff. This new game is called Super Neptunia RPG.

The story is about a company which forces the creation of 2D games to churn a profit. While that’s happening Neptune, a girl with amnesia, wakes to her latent power and goes to fight the bad guys. Of course, she’s going to make friends, fight through dungeons, and embark on all sorts of self-aware adventures along the way.

Fans of low-budget, high-charm content should be on the lookout for this game when it finally releases at some point this year. These games have a really fast dev cycle, after all.
