Syberia - Remastered Revealed in a New Trailer with VR Edition Also In Development

The cult adventure game, Syberia is getting a remaster in the form of Syberia - Remastered. 

Originally released in 2002 by Benoît Sokal, Syberia - Remastered follows Kate Walker, a New York lawyer who is thrown into the middle of an unexpected journey across Europe. She follows in the footsteps of one Hans Voralberg, as she meets some memorable characters in melancholic and mysterious settings. 

Developed in close collaboration by Virtuallyz Gaming and Microids Studio Paris, the remaster is being done with the aim to restore the emotional and artistic power of the original Syberia, whilst also meeting today's technical standards.

So, fans can expect a faithful, modernised experience, with a complete graphical overhaul to enhance environments, characters, and animations. 

But wait, there's more! Microids have also announced that an exclusive virtual reality edition of Syberia is also being designed for Meta Quest 3. Syberia VR allows players to immerse themselves in Sokal's unique universe, with this version offering an unprecedented narrative approach, whilst maintaining the spirit of Syberia. 

More information about Syberia VR will be revealed in the coming months, and Syberia - Remastered is set to release in late 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Meanwhile, the Meta Quest version will be released simultaneously.
