Telltale Announce Tales of Duty: A Telltale Adventure

Editor's Note: The astute amongst you will have probably noticed the date on this article already. This April Fools gag was brought to you by GameGrin.com

Call of Duty has taken some stick from fans over the years with the single-player campaign getting shorter, or even being removed entirely in some instances. Some fans of the game are clearly happy to have a predominantly multiplayer experience, but there’s still a large number of people who prefer an engaging and fulfilling single player story.

Treyarch don’t want to leave these fans out, so they’ve enlisted the help of masters of storytelling, Telltale, to create a series of stories set in the Call of Duty universe. The series is set to be dubbed Tales of Duty and it follows the story of Jacob Hendricks, your sidekick in the latest game in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

Rather than re-telling the story of that game however, Telltale have opted with a prequel. The game will be released in six episodes, starting from Hendricks’ early years and introducing you to his wife and children, leading up to his enlisting and meeting the unnamed soldier that you control in the main game.

“We’re really excited to be working with Treyarch on such a huge new project” Said Avril Pierwszy, lead writer for the title. “Call of Duty is a very important franchise with a highly dedicated fan-base so we will be doing our best to expand on the story of the characters that players have come to love over the years and bring their lives outside of the military to life in a way not seen before in any major game series.”

This is a great idea. It'll give people a real emotional connection to that character. I might play it before I get round to playing the latest COD actually, just so I get to experience everything in the right order.
