In what is becoming somewhat common news at the minute Telltale Games has revealed that they have laid off 90 employees.
The move accounts for roughly 25% of the company's workforce in what has been labelled a "comprehensive company restructuring". Part of this restructure is that the company is looking to "move internal development over to more proven technologies that will fast-track innovation in its core products as it works with new partners to bring its games to new audiences." It is also worth noting that one of the board of directors for Telltale Games is John Riccitello, Unity's CEO.
In recent weeks both developer CCP have closed a studio and publisher Perfect World Entertainment closing another studio and laying off staff at a second. It's sadly common to hear about these sort of events but it's always a shame. Telltale Games have thanked the impacted employees for their contributions to the company and that they will be offering "full career assistance services" to those impacted.
We wish the best of luck to those affected by this news in finding new work in this difficult time.
