The Elder Scrolls Online Will Not Require PS Plus But Will Require Xbox Live Gold

The Elder Scrolls Online Will Not Require PS Plus But Will Require Xbox Live Gold

With the release date for The Elder Scrolls Online fast approaching (although not fast enough for some) more and more information is becoming available. Almost on a daily basis are we finding out new titbits about the highly-anticipated MMORPG.

PlayStation have taken to their blog to answer a number of different questions from their twitter followers about how the game will work on the PlayStation 4, including whether PlayStation Plus will be needed.

In a word, the answer is, no. Fans will only have to pay the subscription for the game itself and not have to purchase PS Plus on top in order to rampage around the coasts and mountains of Tamriel. Mudcrabs be praised!

On the other, slightly shaky hand, Xbox One owners who intend to use this platform to live out their Elder Scroll dreams will unfortunately have to pay two subscriptions. As well as the game subscription, players will have to fork out another subscription to Xbox Live Gold. Whilst this may not be a problem for those gamers who are already paying for the Microsoft service, it will certainly weigh-in on the decision making of those who were not sure which console to get to play the game.

For the full PlayStation Blog, loaded with all sorts of answers about ESO on the PS4, including whether regions will be split (spoilers: they will), head over here and take a sneaky peek.
