The GOG Summer Sale 2016 Begins
The GOG Summer Sale has begun and as usual combines a mixture of individual deals and bundles. Lasting for two weeks with new deals every 24 hours there are also activities to partake in to earn XP which lead to free games.
One freebie available to all is System Shock 2 which is available for everyone who tries out the GOG Galaxy client and visits their experience page from within it. Completing tasks and purchasing games earns you XP which can unlock 3 titles: Spelunky at 5,000 XP, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers – 20th Anniversary Edition at 15,000 XP and the Dreamfall Chapters Season Pass at 30,000 XP.
As far as deals go the discounts reach up to 90% off, initial highlights include:
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - £17.49 (50% off)
- Homeworld Remastered Collection - £13.49 (50% off)
- Rebel Galaxy - £7.49 (50% off)
- Satellite Reign - £10.39 (50% off)
- This War of Mine - £3.79 (75% off)
- Xenonauts - £6.99 (60% off)
- Blackguards Special Edition - £3.49 (90% off)
Bundles are also what you expect from GOG sales and this is no exception. The starting lineup of bundles include selections of classic titles from the likes of Lucasarts and Bullfrog; RPGs aplenty in D&D Classics and Hasbro Classics collections with some classic strategy to round out the initial selection.
GOG are using interaction with their Twitch channel to give XP boosts in the sale as well, the first of which involves Stardew Valley on Thursday 9th June at 4PM UTC.
