The Supaboy S is the Hero Retro Gamers Need and Deserve

Hyperkin's Supaboy has already seen a lot of success in the retro gaming community. The console does what every teenager in the nineties wanted and shrinks Nintendo's SNES console down to a portable size. Now the updated S model is set to improve that design further.

Like the original device, the Supaboy S plays cartridges from all regions, although now it comes with a region switch, perfect for those games with multiple regions baked in to the circuitry. Other improvements are a larger LCD screen size at 4.3" with adjustable brightness, something that fans of the original device were keen to see added.

As before, the device supports TV output and can take two original SNES controllers. This means that you can play your retro games how nature intended, on a big screen with wired controllers. If you prefer to play on the move though, the increased battery capacity will give you ten hours of play time.

General Manager of FunstockRetro.co.uk, Andy Pearson quoted: "The Super Nintendo will always be one of the best 16 bit consoles to have ever been made. Many of my favourite titles are on the system, and I love the idea of taking my old cartridges and taking them with me wherever I go. The portability and improved design is a must have for anyone who wants to enjoy classic Super Nintendo memories on the go!"

The SupaBoy S is available to pre-order now at FunstockRetro.co.uk, priced at £99.99. Unlike similar devices though, you don't get any games built in to this console so you'll want to scour eBay for some classic carts to plug in if you don't have them already.

£100 just to play SNES games on the move is a bit steep though.
