The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Expansion Pass Announced

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Expansion Pass Announced

CD Projekt Red know how to provide value. That's why their newly announced Expansion Pass will feature" two epic adventures" to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Unlike their other announced DLC; which are merely added bonuses to the game, and will be free. These two new expansions will be entirely story-driven; offering 30 plus hours of gameplay.

The first piece to hit will be arriving late this year and is titled Hearts of Stone, while the other will arriving sometime in the first quarter of 2016 titled Blood and Wine. Here's the lowdown on what to expect in the upcoming expansions:

Hearts of Stone will take Geralt on an all-new, 10-hour-plus adventure into the wilds of No Man’s Land and the nooks and alleys of Oxenfurt, where he’ll try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass. Caught in a thick tangle of deceit, Geralt will need all his cunning and strength to solve the mystery and emerge unscathed.

Blood and Wine, a 20-hour-plus tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint, will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.

The Season Pass is now available on Steam for pre-order at £19.99 and will be available for all platforms, but don't jump in straight away. To quote CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwiński

“While we’re offering the Expansion Pass now, we want to make one thing clear: don’t buy it if you have any doubts. Wait for reviews or play The Witcher and see if you like it first. As always, it’s your call,”

Some people frown upon pushiness of Season Passes, as they are designed to take more money from you for content long away from its release or even completion.  CD Projekt Red on the other hand, have made it clear that their expansions will represent "real value for money". And at the end of the day, it's your money and your decisions.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases May 19th on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
