Three New Maps Soon Landing in Battlefield 2042

EA and DICE have revealed a trailer showing off the three new maps — called Renewal, Breakaway, and Discarded — that are coming to Battlefield 2042. Each of them has been designed with Battlefield 42’s gameplay elements in mind; things such as verticality, combat over both close quarters and long range, and vehicle-based warfare.

Renewal is set in the Egyptian desert, split between two main building clusters representing a solar Power Station, and a Research Facility. A wall through the middle separates the two regions, with several entry points. Players should be well prepared for close-range combat all this map.

At the other end of the scenic scale, Breakaway is based in Antarctica. A high-altitude Outlook Station, and an Offshore Platform off the Frozen Coast, sets the stage for aerial combat. Zip lines and rope bridges allow traversal of the glacial paths where fighting is likely to break out; a parachute maybe the only thing that saves you from dying should you take a tumble.

Rounding out the new maps is Discarded, set in a flooded village along India’s western coast. A major landmark here is the Colossus Ship; players can fight inside of it while aircraft and tanks lay siege from outside. Cover is a key element of this map, and unpredictable weather will also keep players alert; you never know when a tornado is going to rampage through the area.

The new maps are due to launch into Battlefield 2042 on the 19th of November.

Will always jump into a game on the hardest difficulty and get absolutely wrecked. Obviously, it’s never his fault.
