Top 10 Demos to Try Out in the Steam Couch Co-op Fest
Steam has been making a return for the age-old tradition of demos for titles, a long-lost boon for those who wished to try something out before committing to it fully. First, they rehauled the entire demo system, including new demo-exclusive pages, and now, you can find a slew of demos available in any given sale, ready for you to try out for a limited time!
With the latest Couch Co-op Fest, developers all around Steam are joining in, giving players glimpses of their games to try out. From new to old, here are some of the top demos you should be checking out throughout the sale!
The Steam Couch Co-op Fest is focused on multiplayer, and as such, we did exclude most single-player titles, except for one that we thought would be worth highlighting. Elsewise, titles subtitled "Couch Co-op" will require Steam Remote Play, whilst those subtitled "Multiplayer" work online.
Bopl Battle
Multiplayer

The first one is Bopl Battle, a title developed by Johan Grönvall and published by Zapray Games. It's a couch co-op platform fighter where your goal will be to kill your friends however possible using a myriad of unique skills.
It was released on the 16th of November, 2023, and it is rated 97% with 13,523 reviews, earning it the prestigious Overwhelmingly Positive title. If you like what you see, you can pick it up at a 40% discount, bringing the price down to just £5.10.
DuneCrawl
Multiplayer

Next up, we have DuneCrawl, an unreleased title by Alientrap! Take control of desert-faring privateers as you set out to explore a dune-filled land with an isometric view as you ride huge mechanical mounts and set out to find treasure maps with a gorgeous environment and plenty of hidden loot to plunder.
DuneCrawlis set to release sometime in 2025, but the demo is officially out as of the release of the Steam Couch Co-op Fest. The demo lets you play the intro level, which is about 20 minutes in length, and it is compatible with online already. If you enjoy the demo, you can drop it a wishlist and a follow to get more information about it as it gets closer to release.
Big Helmet Heroes

Tinkerlands
Multiplayer

Developers CodeMany and Endless Coffee, alongside publisher HypeTrain Digital, are showing off their upcoming Tinkerlands title with the Couch Co-op Fest as well. Though the demo was released on the 7th of October 2024, it's a perfect title to explore with the sale's theme.
Set off into a procedurally generated world where you'll explore the islands, find loot and craft items to face bigger weapons, build a town, and engage with all manner of fantasy! This pixelated action-adventure title will give you a bit to look forward to, and if you like the game, you can look forward to its release sometime in 2025.
BlastZone 2
Multiplayer

BlastZone 2 is far from a newcomer on this list, as Matt Edzenga's 2015 release has been out and about for 10 years now, but that doesn't mean that it isn't worthy of a look! It's a classic, arcade-like title where you'll shoot incoming ships whilst traversing a horizontal environment to advance through the levels, and you'll be able to play it with friends, too!
Considering its age, it's also no surprise that BlastZone 2's discount is a hefty 75%, bringing the price down to just £1.79 if you decide to pick it up. If you're struggling to find the demo, you'll be able to find it under the "Is this game relevant to you?" section on the store page, where you'll be able to click the "Download Demo".
Stick It to the Stickman
Single-player

Remember when we said there was going to be a single-player title featured in this list? Enter Stick It to the Stickman, an upcoming Devolver Digital title developed by Free Lives. Though it's not a couch co-op title like the rest of the ones in this list, considering the fame and greatness of Devolver-Digital-published titles, we thought this was an unmissable opportunity.
Become a coffee addict and wreak havoc as a shining stickman in this action beat-'em-up title set to release sometime in 2025. Climb the corporate ladder by kicking groins, shooting staples, and wielding chainsaws with physics-based combat. And if you fail? That's fine, you'll just respawn, drink copious amounts of coffee, and weaponise your farts — back to work, [name]!

Dog lovers out there will squeal at the sight of Sheepherds!, an upcoming title by Ultimo Disco where you'll take control of a sheep dog to herd sheep and collect their wool. This title is a cosy title where you'll run free across the open field to herd sheep with your friends.
If you like a bit of challenge, you can also enjoy the optional challenges, giving you a bit more to do and enjoy.
