Translucent Limited Edition PS4 Hits Stores in August

In order to celebrate the sale of over 500 million PlayStation consoles throughout their life, Sony has revealed a limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro, with only 50,000 available.

This model will pack a 2TB hard drive, along with a special controller, PS Camera and mono headphones. The controller will be available separately for £54.99, as well as a pair of "Gold Wireless Headset 500 Million Limited Edition" for £77.99. Ouch. Other items include a specially designed vertical stand, an HDMI cable and a USB cable. Don't get too excited about the latter two, they are just standard issue.

As you can see from the images above, the console has a semi-translucent blue housing, with the PlayStation logos splashed with copper. The copper plate on the front will mark which one of the 50,000 you own, and Sony says it will make "Extra Special" numbers, such as 09995 (the launch date of the original PlayStation in the US) available separately. Probably for an inflated price, "for the players".

Have a gander at the gallery above, which includes an unboxing video too. Sales will open on 24th August for £449.99. The original PlayStation 4 launched at £349 in November 2013, for comparison.
