Another new game has just been announced, courtesy of the PlayStation Countdown to E3 stream in the lead-up to the large event next week.
Twin Mirror is its name, developed by Dontnod and published by Bandai Namco, who most recently released Vampyr. This game is similar in that it is single-player driven, whereby you'll take control of Sam.
Sam has decided to go back to the town of Basswood, West Virginia, before seemingly having a few too many sambuca shots and waking up to his shirt full of blood. Just not his blood.
Watching the trailer brings back memories of Alan Wake, and it seems that it certainly will bring in some elements of psychological distress or perhaps some kind of supernatural force.
Cyrus Wesson, Bandai Namco community specialist, had this to say on the PlayStation Blog:
Twin Mirror is a psychological thriller wrapped around an investigation where your memories, choices, and relationships will determine Sam’s complicated fate. As he comes to terms with heartbreak, homecoming, and the perpetual struggle of adulthood, Sam will need your help exploring a dark and emotional adventure where the line between truth and deception is blurred.
The debut trailer is available for your viewing above. The game is slated for release in 2019 on PlayStation 4 - other platforms haven't been confirmed, but for the eagle-eyed among you, there is a note at the end of the trailer to say that the footage was captured on the PC version.
