Users Report PlayStation 4 Error Corrupting Save Files

In a 34 plus page forum thread PlayStation 4 users are reporting a console eating bug that at the very least destroys save game data and in the worst case prevents the machine from opening any PlayStation 4 apps, making it a very shiny and expensive doorstop.

Error CE-34878-0 has been cropping up across multiple titles including NBA 2K14, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. User on the thread suggest everything from total save game deletion to complete exchange of the console but as yet not one person has a quick fix for this.
