Vampire Survivors Announces First DLC

Indie developer Poncle has announced DLC for its game Vampire Survivors. This new chapter titled “Legacy of the Moonspell” will bring a plethora of content including a new stage, new characters, weapons, and monsters.

The story goes that in lands to the east, a clan called The Moonspell has fallen. Once guardians of their magical mountain valley, they have now been overrun by yokai and oni hordes. The location is a hive of spectral activity and may lead to clues about a vampire.

New Characters

A total of eight new characters will be introduced in Legacy of the Moonspell. Though, currently we only have info on four of them.

Miang Moonspell - The last disciple of the Moonspell Clan before its downfall, and possibly its finest. Self-consciously a shounen protagonist.

Menya Moonspell - One of the few surviving Moonspell elders, Menya’s mystical powers are near god-like.

Syuuto Moonspell - Banished practitioner of the new moon dark magic, Syuuto is nonetheless an enemy of evil. Poor personal hygiene may contribute to his continued exile.

Babi-Onna - Returned from the dead to seek vengeance on demons and mortals alike, she nonetheless retains her impeccable ability to charm, amuse, and dazzle.

New Stage

The new stage “Mt.Moonspell” is a sprawling map that features a few different environments, each with their own challenges and monsters. Expect abandoned castles, snowy mountaintops, and ravaged villages. According to the developers Mt. Moonspell is their biggest stage yet.

New Gear

We’ve been told that 13 new weapons will be available in Legacy of the Moonspell, here are a few things you can expect.

Silver Wind - An ancestral force unleashed by the staff of the Moonspell Clan, only those born under the moon can fully wield its power (or whoever picks it up after stumbling across it, not sure).

Four Seasons - A set of orbs which unleash the power of the changing seasons, of death and rebirth — so better than Best Western.

Summon Night - A weapon which drips with the darkness of the new moon. Despite the clan’s superstitions, even the shadows can oppose evil (just don’t try to use it while holding a torch).

Mirage Robe - An enchanted kimono, weaved on a loom from the silk of the earth spider, and imbued with a fragment of Babi-Onna’s vengeful spirit. Besides, it looks fabulous darling.

Vampire Survivors: Legacy of the Moonspell will be available on PC, Mac, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on the 15th of December 2022.
