War Thunder Gets Huge 'Weapons of Victory' Update

War Thunder has just received the huge update that has been discussed lately on their devblogs and followed with great interest in our previous news articles. The version number is supposedly 1.49, but the version number has been changed to 1.70.1945 in commemoration of the 70-year anniversary of V-E day on 7-8 May 1945. We have no idea whether they will be reverting this for subsequent updates.

Among the important updates are:

• New line of US tank destroyers
• New British Fleet Air Arm line
• New series of 'Weapons of Victory' premium vehicles
• Damage model updates with regards aircraft rounds and aircraft component damage
• Change in how sloping and shell penetration works for tanks
• Extensive flight model tuning
• New maps - Normandy, Hurtgen Forest, Berlin
