Watch the Trailer for the New (and Challenging) ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN Free Update!
ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is FromSoftware and Bandai Namco’s latest dabble in the beloved franchise. This standalone adventure invites players to team up and try to beat the horrors together! Since its release back on the 29th of May 2025, it’s received a whopping 60,430 reviews and an 86% Very Positive score (at the time of writing).
The game’s receiving a free update that adds a new challenge for players: a high-difficulty mode, which adds a lot of features, both for and against Nightfarer’s in-game wellbeing.
First, let’s start with what players can expect to face:
- Enhanced enemies.
- Powerful foe variants.
- The Nightlord won’t be revealed until the battle.
- Ongoing Shifting Earth at the Roundtable will not be reflected.

Thankfully, it’s not all grim for Nightfarers: there are new weapons available to help with the new challenge. By defeating certain enemies, such as mutants, players can get various additional effects on their arsenal.
If they’re looking for something even bigger and better, Nightfarers can also consider picking up certain weapons that bring even more powerful effects... of course, it’s not without its setbacks. The armaments in this arsenal have debuffs, too. Keep an eye out for the variants in order to get the new, enhanced weapons!
Another useful addition that helps players is the Depths Relics. These can only be used in Deep of Night, but they feature effects and debuffs that aren’t found in any others. They can be placed in three new slots, so they may be combined with existing relics.

Each time players defeat a Nightlord, they’ll increase their rank; this will offer a passage to the next depth. Of course, with newer depths come harder challenges. One of them is the inability to see key locations on the map; another is that an Everdark Sovereign will attack on the third day.
Ready to accept the new challenge? ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN’s Deep of Night is available now. Check out the trailer for a closer look!
