Witcher 3 Developer says 1080 vs 720 is just PR

In an interview with Eurogamer the co-producer of The Witcher 3 has said he considers the distinction between 1080p and 720p to be nothing more than PR nonsense.

We had the debate in the studio about it and actually asked our tech guys to explain how it works, and they sent me some complicated graphs that if I have this size of the screen, and I sit one meter or two meters from it, then I might be able to see the difference.

He has described the difference as being very important to the likes of Sony as it's ammunition in PR wars with our friends from Redmond but not something the developers and people looking at the game sat gamepad in hand will really care about.
