World Premieres at The Game Awards 2021
We all look forward to this time of year. Some may look forward to it due to the holiday season, some due to the promise of a new upcoming year, and others like me look forward to it because of the Game of the Year awards given by so many different companies — most notably, The Game Awards.
Well, I sat down, cooked some delicious food and watched the four hours worth of content to bring you all of the information regarding upcoming titles! Here are all of the games that were included in the World Premieres.
TUNIC
TUNIC is a gorgeous game with clear inspiration drawn from Zelda, we've already previewed this beautiful title when we got our hands on it with Steam's Next Fest.
It follows a fox dressed in suspiciously green clothes that remind us an awful lot of Link from The Legend of Zelda and lovely and diverse landscapes. Tunic is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam on the 16th of March.
The King of Fighters XV
THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV followed up Tunic, a fighting game with up to eight available characters on its open-beta test, including online casual & room matches, and offline versus & training.
KOF XV is receiving an open-beta test on the following dates for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5:
- 17th of December at 19:00 through the 20th of December at 6:59 PST.
- 18th of December at 4:00 through the 20th of December at 15:59 CET.
- 18th of December at 12:00 through the 20th of December at 23:58 JST.
There is pre-purchase available now on Steam, with an Early Access bonus available until the 9th of March, which will include KOF XV DLC Costume "GAROU: MotW TERRY".
The full release will have 39 playable characters, and it's set to release on the 17th of February 2022 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and Epic Games.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Next up is The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the trailer showcases that the game is based on true events, set in an isolated place, we hear a person speaking through the radio with few audible words. One sentence of which includes: "Last seen more than two months ago".
The trailer ends after the masked man (Leatherface) cuts up the kidnapped person, and the logo appears, with the teaser on the game being a multiplayer horror experience based on true events. No further information regarding a release date nor consoles is given.
Homeworld 3
Following the events of Homeworld 2, Homeworld 3 begins the story after the galaxy enjoyed an age of abundance thanks to Hyperspace Gate Network; with cycles of plenty and war that has come and gone. Now the gates themselves are failing and Karan — who has become a myth and religious idolatry — is the key to the mystery that threatens the galaxy's future.
This sci-fi RTS arrives with beautiful visuals, a story mode to continue your journey, a co-op game mode, and PvP battles including 1v1, free-for-all, and team battles.
Homeworld 3 is expected to release in Q4 of 2022 for the Epic Games and Steam stores.
The Expanse
We welcome Telltale Games back and their new game with the next world premier of The Expanse A TellTale Series, which is based off of Prime Video's original series The Expanse.
It is being developed by Telltale Games in unison with Deck Nine which is responsible for this year's Life is Strange: True Colors. The game will be a prequel to the original series, which will follow Camina Drummer as the main protagonist.
The game is still in the early development stages and isn't expected to release anytime soon. However, we do know it will be released on PC and "leading consoles".
BABYLON'S FALL
Babylon's Fall was featured, along with a pre-purchase that is now available.
BABYLON'S FALL is available for pre-order right now with two different editions: Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe.
The Standard Edition will feature:

- 1,000 GARAZ (digital download bonus).
While the Digital Deluxe will feature:

The game will be coming on the 3rd of March for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
Chivalry 2
Chivalry 2 has a holiday treat for everyone. The game will be free to play on all platforms this weekend. The free weekend will run from the 9th–12th of December.
Chivalry 2 will also receive a new map named "The Raid of Aberfell" with the new objective to capture peasants and livestock, and the new "Highland Sword" weapon.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
Monster Hunter Rise makes its way into the Game of the Year awards with its world premiere of the Sunbreakexpansion.
In the very brief trailer, we received we get a glimpse at the new outpost Elgado, along with three new amiibos coming to the series and are left with the message of its upcoming release sometime in the Summer of 2022.
Thirsty Suitors
A brand-new title named Thirsty Suitors from Outerloop Games is a game about culture, relationships, family pressures, and expressing oneself.
Follow Jala as she tries to handle her demanding parents, tries to reconcile with her exes, and mends broken friendships all before her sister's wedding.
Play turn-based battle sequences, skateboard, and cook in Thirsty Suitors on Steam coming soon.
Evil West
A dark menace consumes the old world. Fight in style in viceral, explosive combat against bloodthirsty monsters, and become the Wild West Superhero you always wanted to be in this action game, alone or with a friend!
Evil West will be released in 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Have a Nice Death
Who knew being Death meant having to do so much paperwork?
Play as Death in this brand-new 2D action roguelite as you make your way through slaying your employees for overworking you and throwing the balance of souls off whack.
Explore Death Inc., a procedurally generated world where you'll meet a diverse cast of characters — such as the affable Pump Quinn.
This gorgeous title will be released in Early Access in March 2022 for around a year, with several things being added in the 1.0 release such as new curses, worlds, enemies, difficulty modes, and more.
Planet of Lana
Takeshi Furukawa proudly presents one of his work-in-progress soundtracks for the game Planet of Lana, which will feature a heartfelt story between a young girl and her adorable creature.
Planet of Lana is a 2D platformer that is story-rich, with unique companion-based gameplay, challenging action sequences, puzzles with diverse challenges and quirky twists, and more.
Planet of Lana will be released in 2022 for Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
The stakes are Ultimate, the tension is Maximum, the fight is… the ULTIMAX!
Experience the story of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, a 2D story-rich fighter, which will include all of the previously released Persona 4 Arena Ultimax content, including the original Persona 4 Arena story.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will be released on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch on March 17th, with the Steam pre-order available now.
Hellblade 2: Senua's Saga
The moment we've all been waiting for, Hellblade 2: Senua's Saga receives a world premiere at The Game Awards, with a trailer featuring gameplay that would easily fool anyone into thinking it's a cinematic trailer.
Hellblade 2: Senua's Saga will be released on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming. However, we are left wanting and with our arms wide open for a release date, which is still yet to be announced.
Star Wars Eclipse
Lucas Films has jumped into the fray once more with the world premiere of Star Wars Eclipse, which will be a story-driven multiple-character narrative which is set in the High Republic era of the Star Wars universe.
Since Star Wars Eclipse is an original story, it meets brand-new characters and environments, with choices that will have consequences thanks to the game's deep narrative focus.
Although it is still in early development, players can sign up to the newsletter at starwarseclipse.com and receive an exclusive digital wallpaper with their registration.
Lost Ark
Lost Ark is an action MMORPG with many adventures ahead. Join the battle in ARPG-style combat and progression as you quest, raid, and fight in large battles very akin to other MMOs. Whether you play solo, with friends, or match up with adventurers in the world, there will be an experience to be had for everyone, such as fighting in the open world or delving into chaotic dungeons, or fighting in big or small raids, the choice is yours.
Lost Ark is free to play, however, there are four founder's packs available for purchase currently each with its own benefits ranging from £13.20-£87.99 / $14.99-$99.99 in price. The game will be available on the 11th of February, and players who purchase the founder's pack will receive a three-day head start.
Wonder Woman
Experience the debut of Wonder Woman to the videogame world with Monolith's take for the heroine.
This very brief trailer shows us next to nothing but gets us very excited for the potential future of this game. It showcases Wonder Woman's gorgeous armour and the Lasso of Truth.
Alan Wake 2
After a decade of waiting, fans will finally be able to get their hands on Alan Wake 2, the much-anticipated sequel to its original.
Although not much information is given about the game apart from it being built as a survival horror to the difference of its predecessor that was an action horror, we do know that eager players will be able to get their hands on Alan Wake 2 sometime in 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Epic Games store.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Everyone's favourite (and possibly the only) blue hedgehog is receiving his second movie after the positive reception of the first one! We see Jim Carrey return as Doctor Eggman, along with the brand-new appearance of Tails and Knuckles.
The new Sonic the Hedgehog movie will be released on the 8th of April, 2022.
Horizon Forbidden West
A brand-new trailer has been released for the gorgeous looking Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel that will continue Aloy's story. The trailer showcases tons of new machines, along with new environments and a hint at the underwater exploration that the game will feature.
Horizon Forbidden West will be released on the 18th of February, 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade
Fans, rejoice. For Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is making its way to the Epic Games store, which will allow everyone to be able to play it on their PCs.
And the best part? You won't even have to wait too long for that to happen, as Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade will be released on the 16th of December, just a few short days from now!
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen
Destiny 2 kicks off the year with the teaser for its brand new expansion, The Witch Queen.
Witness the next chapter in the Destiny 2 universe, as you uncover how Savathûn and her Lucent Hive stole the Light. The new expansion will also feature a new destination, Savathûn’s Throne World, and the brand-new Weapon Crafting system, along with the new Glaive weapon type.
Pre-order the game now to unlock the Cosmographicum Exotic Ghost Shell, the Enigma Exotic Emote, and a new emblem. Available on the 22nd of February, 2022.
Slitterhead
Witness Keiichiro Toyama's new studio in action, Bokeh Game Studio, as they unravel the brand-new game Slitterhead, in which there are some of the freakiest monsters hunting the player.
Not much more information is given about Slitterhead, not even a release window. So eager fans waiting for Keiichiro Toyama's new title will have to wait patiently just a little longer.
Nightingale
Explore a fantasy Victorian setting in the brand-newNightingale, a building and crafting survival game where you will be able to travel through portals and delve deeper into more adventures and mysteries. Be wary travellers, for the worlds will grow ever-beautiful, yes, but just as deadly.
Nightingale can be played solo, with friends, or allies met across the realms. The Alpha and Beta tests will take place sometime in 2022, and players can sign up already over at playnightingale.com. As of right now, Nightingale is only set to release on PC and is expected to launch in 2022. This is subject to change, however.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
Chase what Gollum cherishes most in the world, as the iconic split-personality; one mind, two egos.
Play as the hobbit corrupted by the one ring in The Lord of the Rings: Gollum as they climb, leap, and grapple out of harm's way. However, Gollum isn't above murder, and kill all of the foes that stand between you and the one ring through stealth, or other villainous ways.
However stressful this may be, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is yet to receive a release window; it will lurk in the shadows until the developers feel the time is right.
PUBG Battlegrounds
The first battle royale, the iconic PUBG: Battlegrounds (short for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Battlegrounds apparently) is going free-to-play on the 12th of January. However, players can pre-register now over at pre-reg.pubg.com.
Somerville
Somerville makes its announcement in The Game Awards. It is a first-person cinematic adventure where players will immerse themselves in a hand-crafted narrative experience that will span a vivid rural landscape. Players will navigate the perilous terrain as they uncover the mysteries of Earth's visitors.
Somerville will be released sometime in 2022.
Cuphead's The Delicious Last Course
Enter fabled D.L.C island with Cuphead's DLC "The Delicious Last Course" (DLC for short) as players will travel through different environments to face brand-new challenges around every corner.
The Delicious Last Course will be released on the 30th of June, 2022
Sonic Frontiers
Witness the new story of Blue Justice through the brand-new game Sonic Frontiers with a vast open-world to explore.
This brand new action-adventure open-world exploration game will be released in the holidays of 2022, so quite the ways off for everyone that's excited.
Tchia
Explore an open-world based on a tropical landscape heavily inspired by New Caledonia, including the landscapes, cultures, music, languages, folklores, and traditions. Soar high through the skies or swim deep below the waters in this brand-new physics-driven sandbox. Utilise the soul-jumping ability to play as over 30 playable animals and hundreds of objects to explore these gorgeous lands.
Tchia will be released sometime in 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League received its world-premiere as the Suicide Squad send insulting videos to the Flash and fight waves of monsters in this brand-new gameplay trailer.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in 2022.
Forspoken
Explore the land of Athia through the perspective of Frey, a young New Yorker that was transported away from her home. Join her as she tries to find her way back to New York and explore her newfound magical abilities to traverse sprawling landscapes and battle monstrous creatures.
Forspokenwill release on the 24th of May, 2022 for the PlayStation 5 and PC.
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2
The galaxy is in peril. Entire worlds are falling. The Imperium needs you.
Take the role of a Space Marine in the much-anticipated sequel to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, as its sequel has been announced at a world premiere through a beautiful CGI cinematic.
Although not much more information has been given about Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2, we do know that this third-person action game will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Saints Row
Saints Row's reboot has been delayed, however that hasn't stopped them from sharing with us a brand-new trailer that bolsters the new release date proudly.
No new information is given in the new trailer apart from reigniting our hype for the game, however it now has the proper release date after the delay, which is set to release on the 23rd of August, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games store.
Fall Guys New Crossover
The holiday season is upon us, so of course it's time to celebrate Halloween! Wait, what?
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is receiving a new crossover with Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas with new outfits to purchase such as Jack, Santa Jack, Sally, and the Mayor of Halloween Town, which will run from the 16th–27th of December.
Additionally, the Guestravaganza will be making its way as well on the 28th of December all the way through the 3rd of January with tons of new guests such as Shovel Knight, NieR Automata's 2B, Cuphead, and the notorious Goose from Untitled Goose Game.
Dune: Spice Wars
From the developers of the critically acclaimed Northgard comes Dune: Spice Wars, a real-time strategy game with 4X elements. Set in Frank Herbert's Dune universe, lead your faction to victory and battle for control points and dominance of the desert planet Arrakis.
Dune: Spice Wars is expected to hit Steam Early Access sometime in 2022.
Tiny Tina's Wonderland
Embark on an epic adventure with a multiclass hero, as you shoot, loot, and slash your way through the Dragon Lord's ranks to stop him in this brand-new looter-shooter.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will offer very in-depth personalisation, including a multiclass system that will let you mix and match six unique character skill trees, each with its own unique abilities. Level up, refine your build, and expand your arsenal.
Adventure into Tiny Tina's Wonderland on the 25th of March, 2022 either solo or with up to three friends.
Among Us VR
There is an impostor among us, and it is imperative we find out who, this time in VR!
Experience the world of Among Us through the brand-new perspective of first-person view, which will surely allow plenty of killers to sneak up behind unsuspecting players and give the crewmates a new and unique challenge and perspective in the game.

Genshin Impact
A new trailer has been released for three new Genshin Impact characters which will be made available in the future, featuring a pyro bow-wielder and another geo user featured beside Arataki Itto with a teaser for Yun-jin at the end.
No more information was given for this Genshin Impact world premiere, however, we await anxiously for more in the future!
Steelrising
Steelrising received its world premiere, and it's a game set in Paris in 1789 as the Revolution has been suppressed by Louis XVI and his ruthless mechanical army. Play as Aegis to take on the king's ranks of automaton and change the course of history.
Steelrising will feature a fascinating story rooted in actual history set from ancient Paris as players will control Aegis to turn the tide of battle. Navigate the streets, rooftops, neighbourhoods and castles of the city to reveal its secrets while engaging in ruthless combat that will truly test your reflexes and skill.
Steelrising will release on June 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games store.
Metal: Hellsinger
Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythm-based shooter adventure where you play as The Unknown, a part-human part-devil with a vengeance with a storyline narrated by Troy Baker. And, once you've finished with that, participate in the leaderboards or challenge your friends to beat your score through the Challenge Mode.
Listen to original soundtracks made specifically for the game with vocals from metal icons such as Matt Heafy, Mikael Stanne, Björn Strid, Alissa White-Gluz, Dennis Lyxzén, James Dorton, and Tatiana Shmailyuk.
Metal: Hellsinger will release sometime in 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Star Trek: Resurgence
Star Trek: Resurgence is set in the year 2380, in the era following Star Trek: The Next Generation films, where players will be controlling two characters throughout the story, with gameplay switching between these two in a similar fashion to Telltale's Game of Thrones.
Build relationships, make tough choices, and explore the world while you unravel the dialogue-driven role playing and rich storylines as you engage with the Star Trek universe in a variety of gameplay styles such as shuttle piloting, phaser fights, tricoder scanning, stealth, and other gameplay mechanics.
Star Trek: Resurgence will release in Spring of 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games store.
Rumbleverse
Rumbleverse received its world premiere, and although the trailer doesn't give a lot of information, the Epic Games Store page does. The game is a free-to-play 40 person battle-royale that will have players controlling a citizen of Grapital City and battling their way to victory. Customise your fighter as you mix and match from hundreds of unique items to stand out from the crowd.
Slam into the city and soar through the rooftops looking for weapons and upgrades in Rumbleverse early by signing up on rumbleverse.com and getting invited to the first look on the 10th of December exclusive for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Later on, Rumbleverse will release an early access beta on the 8th of February for anyone that purchases the early access pack for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games store and its final release is expected to be on the 15th of February.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
Continue the heartbreaking story of Amicia and Hugo from A Plague Tale: Innocence with the official announcement of A Plague Tale: Requiem which will work as a direct sequel to the original game.
The gorgeous trailer showcases firsthand how the game will look in its sequel, as we see Amicia and Hugo once more through their journeys attempting to survive the plague.
A Plague Tale: Requiem will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, and the Xbox Game Pass.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human
Dying Light 2: Stay Human received its brand-new trailer showcasing some characters alongside the zombie threat.
Alongside the trailer to reawaken the hype from the dead, Dying Light 2 Stay Human opens pre-orders which includes the exclusive pack "Reach for the Sky" and shows the release date of 4th of February.
CrossfireX
CrossfireX received its world premiere with a very engaging trailer featuring a lot of gunplay and explosions. The game will throw players in the middle of the immersive battle between Global Risk and Black List, two of the world's most formidable private military forces.
CrossfireX will release on the 10th of February for the Xbox platforms alongside its two single-player campaigns Operation Catalyst and Operation Spectre, alongside fully-featured multiplayer modes.
Fortnite Chapter 3
Fortnite unveils its third chapter with brand-new features, such as the sliding down slopes at quicker speeds, sliding, setting up new maps, and new maps alongside its battle pass which will include an outfit so that players can play as Spider-Man.
A new feature, the Victory Crown, has been implemented. The more players continue to win, the more they will be able to keep the crown and show off their prestige.
That isn't all, Fortnite Island has been rehauled completely to include brand-new areas, including Spider-Man's Daily Bugle.
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodhunt
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt shares a brand-new trailer showcasing some gameplay features like powers that will make your preying easier.
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodhunt will be released for PlayStation 5 and Steam in Spring of 2022.
GTFO Launch Trailer
GTFO has received its official terrifying launch trailer in honour of the 1.0 version released during The Game Awards.
GTFO is a cooperative horror shooter that is meant to force teamwork and communication among your teammates. Stealth through the enemies, strategise against the hordes, and use teamwork to make it out alive. Work together, or die together.
Additionally, GTFO has a sale in celebration of its 1.0 release on Steam for a 25% discount until the 16th of December, so make sure to act fast!
Chorus
Take control of Nara as she embarks on a quest to destroy the dark cult that created her as Chorus shares its accolades trailer with the world on its world premiere.
Chorus has been out since the 3rd of December, and shares a demo of its game on Steam, alongside brand-new availability on Amazon Luna. It is also available for purchase on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC via Steam and Epic Games, and streaming via Stadia and Amazon Luna.
HALO Paramount+ Series
The HALO franchise is receiving a live-action release which received its world premiere. The series shows several landscapes that the show will take place in as well as a first look at a Spartan soldier.
HALO will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+ as an original series to the streaming service sometime in 2022.
Elden Ring
ELDEN RING showcases a brand new story trailer that teaches players just a little bit more about the world of ELDEN RING and the lore that will be surrounding it along with showcasing an epic battle between Malenia and a giant as they both strike each other down.
ELDEN RING is expected to be released on the 25th of February, 2022 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
SYNCED: Off Planet
A trailer for SYNCED: Off-Planet dropped as a world premiere showcasing combat and how it will look.
SYNCED: Off Planet will be a free-to-play title that is set to release on Steam in 2022 with request access available to perhaps get the opening for a new spot, and a Discord channel to join and discuss all things SYNCED: Off Planet until the official release window.
ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders is a free-to-play co-op shooter where you can fight back waves of ARC, a threat descending from space either alone or with friends!
Scavenge the ruins of the past, wield tools, and gadgets to outsmart your enemy. ARC Raider is very co-op based, with relentless foes that will stop at nothing to see the end of the players.
New Matrix Movie and Game
Bunched up together for the sake of brevity and ease of writing, Matrix's story is expanding with these two new takes on Neo the Matrix guy.
The movie looks like just about any other John Wick movie out there, however, the game looks like a whole different story, with pretty graphics, and free-to-play access for PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox S|X.
