Xbox All Access Available in the UK

Xbox All Access, Microsoft's all-in-one payment plan comes to the UK. The scheme lets customers spread the cost of an Xbox One S or X, and 24 months of Game Pass Ultimate over two years, claiming to save "over £100" for customers based on the respective products' RRP. 

The scheme is similar to those offered by mobile phone retailers, even going so far as to offer an "upgrade" to Microsoft's upcoming console, Project Scarlett, after its planned release late 2020. Although the specific requirements for this upgrade will vary depending on which deal a customer takes.

The three contract options are as follows: 

• £17.99/mo for the Xbox One S All-Digital console, 24 months of Game Pass and an 18-month console upgrade option. (With £15 upgrade fee.)
• £19.99/mo for the Xbox One S console, 24 months of Game Pass and an 18-month console upgrade option.
• £24.99/mo for the Xbox One X console, 24 months of Game Pass and a "limited time" 12-month console upgrade option. (To be raised to 18 months for customers joining after 31st Dec 2019)

It's worth noting that the Project Scarlett upgrade will not be free or a continuation of the existing payment plan, but a new payment plan with a currently unconfirmed monthly price.

Xbox All Access is Microsoft's attempt to make gaming affordable for a wider range of people and simplify their console ecosystem for less savvy customers. For one monthly fee, customers won't need to concern themselves with maintaining a Game Pass subscription, gaining an Xbox Live Gold membership or supplying games when buying their Xbox. It's easy to see how the scheme would be appealing to the right customer.

Xbox All Access is available in the UK from GAME Retail Limited and Smyths Toys UK Limited, with more UK retailers joining the scheme in the future.
