Xbox One SDK Released via Twitter with Dev OS to Follow
In a series of tweets, the group H4lt have released the Xbox One SDK to everyone. Previously, Microsoft required users of the SDK to go through some form of screening before they could use it.
It's as yet unclear how this leak came about - it may be that a member of H4lt is an indie developer who had a copy and wanted to make it public. H4lt have emphasised that they do not see themselves as a hacking group.
The original tweet went out:
Hey, @Xbox! We thought we'd drop on by and End 2014 with a Bang ;) https://t.co/dQH9CIPrb0
— H4LT (@notHALT) December 30, 2014
Followed four hours later by the documentation:
Documentation for the SDK available: https://t.co/chv86kLt65

And very recently, the following tweet went out, after asking whether they should upload the Dev OS:
Right, the Dev OS won't be available until tonight. I think we duped it.

Right now, there is nothing that can be done with the SDK installed. However it will allow people to get an insight into how the Xbox One differs from a standard Windows 8 setup. In time this could lead to homebrew running on the Xbox One, or being able to emulating Xbox One games on your Windows PC.
Both of those things are far off, however.

Only reason I used that meme. It WAS just a header, but I figured "Eh, it's New Years Eve!"
