Xbox Outsells PlayStation in Japan After 8 Years
The unthinkable has happened! According to a report published by Famitsu, the Xbox Series S sold more than double of PlayStation 5 in Japan last week. This has happened for the first time in eight years as Xbox is relatively small in Japan.
According to the report, Xbox Series S alone sold 6,120 consoles, whereas the PS5 and PS5 digital sold 2,693 consoles. Microsoft’s Xbox Series X only sold 105 units during the same period. However, it is to be noted that these numbers are an indication of the fluctuating stock levels around the globe.
Now, in Japan, the Xbox Series X|S has sold 204,877 units in total and the PlayStation 5 has sold 1,620,838 units. While PlayStation and Nintendo remain dominant in the Japanese market, Xbox is slowly gaining momentum.
