Yooka-Replaylee Shares Official Launch Trailer
Playtonic's Yooka-Laylee invited players to a whimsical world inspired by the masterpiece of Banjo-Kazooie. Reviving the nostalgic platformers of old, the title played a lot like a classic 3D title with collect-a-thon elements and numerous worlds to explore, filled with sarcastic quips and playful characters.
It's been about eight years since then, and Playtonic has released a remake of the title — while it's received some backlash due to the nature of remastering such an early title, the team has shared a trailer to showcase what's new. From better graphics, improved platforming, and even more content, there's enough here to call Yooka-Replaylee more than just a simple remaster.
Here's everything you need to know that's new to Yooka-Replaylee:
- Better graphics — Yooka and Laylee have never looked so beautiful.
- New areas to explore with new moves to unlock throughout them.
- A treasure-tracking NPC to help you 100% the title when you're missing just a few collectibles in each area.
- New tonics to alter the way you play: different difficulties to make it easier or more challenging, and new silly tonics to modify the game.
- New dress-up opportunities to decorate the protagonists to your heart's content.
- A new Rextro mini-game within the game.
- New enemies, including smaller runts (like bees!) and bosses to face against.
Yooka-Replaylee is officially out now as of the 9th of October 2025, and you can pick it up on the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam. You can pick it up for £22.49 for a limited time at a 10% discount (from £24.99) until the 16th of October 2025. If you fancy picking up the original title, it's still available on the Steam store for £15.99 with discounts going as low as £3.19, though you'll miss out on all of the new upgrades and features highlighted above.
Finally, owners of the original Yooka-Laylee can pick up the Yooka-Laylee Owner Discount Bundle to save money on the title!
