Big Star Games Help Lionsgate Celebrate Reservoir Dogs 25th Anniversary
Reservoir Dogs has become something of a cult-to-mainstream crossover in the years since its release. It’s hard to imagine that there was a time that Tarantino wasn’t a towering giant of the cinema world, but rewind back to 1992 and this title was one of his first pictures and helped make him into the renowned director and screenwriter that he is today.
And rewinding is an appropriate term, as that’s what you’ll be doing in Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days. The game has a unique “Time Back” mechanic, which allows you to rewind time to get every movement in your heist just right. Think Superhot, but much more violent.
“As huge fans of Reservoir Dogs, we’re very focused on creating a highly addictive experience that stays true to the tense, dramatic vibe of this unforgettable movie,” said Liam Patton, CEO, Big Star Games. “By taking control of different characters for overlapping bursts of time, players must utilize the strengths of each squad member to carry out the game’s missions, with every move and shot creating a butterfly effect on the overall outcome.”
The game is a shooter set during the heist at the start of the film. Previously, this was not seen in much detail, so in the shoes of every colour of character in the iconic film, you’ll be able to experience the event that set the scene of the largely dialogue-based film like never before. Along with a whole load of new heists created specifically for the game. Hopefully they will pan out better than in the film; otherwise this is going to be a short title!
The game is expected to launch worldwide later this year, first on Steam for Windows PCs, followed by an Xbox One version at a later date. Created by Spanish developer Big Star Games, Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days will be published by Lionsgate, who published the original film as well.
