15 Hints for Mina the Hollower

Here’s some advice that can be helpful when you start playing Mina the Hollower. All these suggestions come from my own experience playing and things that I found helpful when I was stuck and didn't know where to go. Included with this are suggestions on how to collect Bones to level up and make Mina stronger. You might as well power-up while you are exploring the area!

• Hollow beside gates or fences that have a gap at the bottom. This allows you to get to the other side.

• Keep an eye out for walls that have a small passage by the ground. Dig beside it and move underneath it to get to the opposite side.

• Break any candlesticks you see hanging on the wall, these give you useful things like plasma to help heal Mina, or Bones that can help you level up your attack, defense, or secondary weapon.

• Look for green Bones peeking out of the ground, dig on that spot to pick them up. 

• If you see a sparkle on the ground, that marks a spot to dig. Here you usually you find something valuable like a skull or ribcage that are worth a lot of Bones 

• Burrow under and pick up any boulders you find, even when there are no enemies around. If you throw and break them, you get five Bones. 

• Cut down any hedges or plants you see, you will be rewarded for your efforts.

• Look for ledges you can drop down from, if the edge doesn't have a barrier you may be able to access areas below you.

• If you are having trouble making a jump face on, look for a block that is slightly closer to where you need to go that you can jump at an angle. 

• Sometimes the gap seems a little too large, try standing back a little bit then dig and pop out, this can launch you, letting you cover a longer distance.  

• Keep an eye out for spots to dig that lead underground. There is a mark carved into these showing you can go down. This can lead to secret rooms or to the underground lab. Some of these can save your game as well.

• Piles of dirt signal something is buried there so dig and you will find some Bones.

• If you see anything with a crack, like a door, headstone, or spot on the wall, hit it with your weapon and try to break it. This might open up a whole new area to explore.

• Look for something on the ground that looks like armour, if you dig on this spot, it will break apart giving you Bones.

• You can climb ropes that you find, sometimes they need to be pushed down from the top giving you a way to get down or crawl back up later.
  
  

These are just a few of the things I would do while playing Mina the Hollower when I got stuck. This game requires you to be observant, keeping an eye out for anything that could lead to hidden passages and items to help you on your way like a key or special Secondary Weapon, like the Parasol, that lets you glide over large gaps.
