5 Games I'm Excited to Play on the Steam Deck

The Steam Deck is coming out soon and I am shivering in my boots with excitement for it, as I found out a few years ago that I can enter a weird ultra "gaming mode" whenever I play something on a handheld or listen to arcade-style music. Now that I'll have my entire Steam library available on a handheld, I'll be able to access this videogame zen mode at any point.

Thanks to that, I've been checking to see what games I am most excited to play and have decided to compile a list to keep track! These games are in no particular order, as I am terrible at choosing favourites most of the time.

Without further ado, let's get started!

Machinarium

This game has been on my "to play" list for a very long time but keeps getting pushed back, which is good because now I'll be able to play it when the Steam Deck (finally) arrives. The art style and indie feel is a perfect combination to relax me as I slump over the couch, cosy beside my wife.

Dead Cells

Unlike Machinarium, which I would use for relaxing times,Dead Cells is going to be a perfect game for the Steam Deck as I'll be able to just pull out the game and run around, rampantly murdering the enemies whenever I happen to get bored in real life.

Hades

Hades was one of my very first roguelike games and it will forever have a place in my heart. This is one of the reasons why I just know I'll constantly play it on the Steam Deck! There's no time like the present to revisit some of your "firsts" in gaming, I say.

Celeste

One of the good things about arriving late to theCeleste hype, as I have only finished it for the first time about four days ago, is that I might just be able to play it on the Steam Deck before I get burnt out forever from it. But then, who could possibly hate this game? Even Pico (a minigame inside of Celesteis an enormous amount of fun.

Cozy Grove

My wife bought me this game a few months back because she knows I am a fan of Animal Crossing and bears. Unfortunately, the game came at a bad time, as I'd just recently begun struggling with De Quervain's and couldn't focus much on games... that and the bears are really annoying. Perhaps if I revisit the title during my ultra god-gamer zen mode and can enjoy it whilst cuddling my dog, I can find it in my heart to find some love for this game again.

For now, I will leave it here, as there are hundreds of games out there! These are just some of my top games I'm excited to try on the Steam Deck.

What are the titles you're looking forward to? Feel free to tell me in a comment below, tweet at me, or even join us in the official GameGrin Discord!
