Games That Make You Feel Like a Million Quid

With the amount of videogames available, everyone has their “feel good” game. Whether they want to play No Man’s Sky because it’s pretty, or mow down authority figures in GTA V after a bad day at work, there’s plenty of choice. Especially since there have been over 6000 PC games released in 2017 alone, although more than a couple are from Steam’s new Greenlight replacement Steam Direct… But that’s out of the scope for this article.

With 54% of gamers choosing to spend around nine hours of their time playing with or against others, hopefully we’ll have enough of a selection to suit you. Unless you’re among the 47% of smartphone owners who play games on them - we’ll get around to writing an article for you.

We sat down and curated a list of games that make you feel great, whether you’re feeling up or down. Whether you’re in the mood to check out the sights, or want to win at all costs, we’re sure there’s a game for you, so read on.

Burnout Paradise
With beautiful vistas and a stunning open world, Criterion really exceeded expectations with the final main title of EA’s racing franchise. But that pales in comparison to the thrill of smashing into an opponent or three in the middle of a race, or causing as much damage and chaos as possible in Showtime Mode. There’s even online connectivity to pit you against other real players, so you can prove that you’re the best.

Minecraft
There are sheep, pigs and creepers, but Minecraft is all about building. It’s not just the diamonds that make you feel rich, but the accomplishment of creating something huge and wonderful, and showing it off to everyone. You might never build the actual Taj Mahal, but imagine seeing what everyone thinks of your lifesize replica crafted out of Prismarine! Build something gorgeous and huge, or small and complex, the options are practically endless with voxels after all.

Elite Dangerous
Although it started off as a space simulator, sending you off with 500 credits and a spaceship to make your way in a cruel universe, things have changed. Aliens have shown up, and thanks to brand new ship upgrades you and your friends can destroy huge Thargoid ships! There are even people who are taking on three or four at a time, though you should remember to never fly without your rebuy!

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Taking on the mantle of the Dragonborn, literally the one born to kill the dragons, you have to do just that. And what could be more epic than taking on a flying, flame-breathing giant? Whether you want to shoot it with arrows, hit it with a mace or fire lightning from your fingertips, they’ll fall under your might! And if they won’t, mod the game until they do with weapons, armour and magic.

888casino's The Elite Lounge
A little unorthodox, we know, but you can’t argue that 888’s Elite Lounge, with it’s private dealers for live blackjack and live roulette, can certainly make you feel special. They even have extra high limits for you high rollers, because winning big will always make you feel good.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
One Exploring Bolivia and taking down a cartel is fun, but you should really do it with a few buddies. A well-coordinated strike from multiple sides, taking over an enemy base while a dozen bad guys scramble and fall to your team is much more satisfying than doing it solo. Or just get everyone into helicopters and race across the country – Ghost Recon does look pretty.

Cuphead
With some of the other games in this list, playing co-op is optional. Well, with the retro-looking Cuphead it’s pretty much a necessity. One of the most difficult side scrolling shooters in recent memory, you will want to bring a friend along as you take down increasingly crazy bosses across 20 or so levels. Not only will finishing Cuphead be a feat all of it’s own, but it will make you feel amazing.

So there are our suggestions, if you’ve never played them. And if not, you really should. Do you have any of your own? What do you play to feel good, great or even fantastic? Let us know below.
