How to Complete My Time at Sandrock Main Mission 2: The New Builder

After finishing the first main mission, Welcome to Sandrock!, players will be urged to create a Pickaxe to familiarise themselves with how the gameplay works.

First up, you'll need to collect enough materials to make the Pickhammer, which isn't much:

• Two Wood.
• Four Stone.

Don't cut any trees down: this is frowned upon in Sandrock, as resources are to be harvested from Piles and Scrap. These can be found around the world and will give materials. You can also cut down bushes to get Wood (among other things)!

Once you have everything, head over to Mason's old Worktable and interact with it. When the Pickhammer is crafted, the quest will update to prompt you to talk to Yan, the Commerce Guild boss you just met.

He'll explain a bit about Scrap and give you the diagram for the Recycler, the machine it turns it into useful resources. To make it, you'll need:

• Three Wood.
• Two Stone Trough (you'll need six Stone; made in the Worktable).
• Two Grinding Saws (you'll need four Dinas and one Stone; made in the Worktable).

When you have the materials, go to the Assembly Station. This is basically a bigger and more powerful version of the Worktable, where you'll make machines and bigger items.

Once you have the Recycler, go back to Yan and complete the mission. You'll be rewarded with four diagrams: Worktable, Furnace, Basic Awning, and the Drying Rack. These can be made at the Assembly Station.
