How To Get The M9 Tranq Pistol Quickly In METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Sons Of Liberty

Getting The M9

So, the good news: once you have taken the elevator to the top of Strut A and Raiden has removed his diver's mask, the pistol is up for grabs with zero hoops to jump through! You just need to know where to look.

Now, from here, crawl through the fence and head down into Strut A's interior. Following the cutscene that plays out once you reach the bottom of the stairs, go over to the east side of the room (avoiding the guard and activating the map node as you go). On the north wall of Strut A, note that there are two paths: a left-side one that leads to Strut B (the story path), and a right-side one that leads to Strut F. Strut F is where you need to go.

Between Struts A and F, there is a cypher drone patrolling the connecting bridge, so be very careful to avoid its gaze. To get past it, wait for it to drift downwards, which it does in order to scope out the parallel walkway situated below. While it is down there and out of the way, quickly sprint past it.

Well done, you made it to Strut F. That was quick and painless, wasn't it? Here, you'll be in an upside-down T-shaped corridor; to the north are guards (which you do not need to disturb), and to the east (the other end of the T top) is a small storage room. This is the room that houses the pistol, as well as some ammunition.

Rest assured, the pistol is definitely in this very room. I, unfortunately, snatched it up (like the hungry, little goblin that I am) before snapping a screenshot.
