Super Bomberman R 2 Character Abilities
Super Bomberman R 2 was released back in 2023, and surprisingly enough, it’s not the easiest title to find information on. There are 26 different types of special bombers in Super Bomberman R 2 that all have their own unique ability. Unfortunately, when you are selecting which character you want to play in the battle mode, you aren’t told what their ability is. The only way I found is by going to the shop and viewing the character and their description there.
I went searching online and couldn’t find a definitive list of this; I found lots on the Super Bomberman R title, but not the sequel. So I sat down with the game and wrote down all the information I found posted on the in-game store to learn about each bomber's unique move. I figured it would be handy to have a list ready that you can check out when you are trying to select a character for your battle, or have an idea of who you would like to buy from the shop when you have enough gold.
There are four different types of characters: bombers (which include your regular bomberman heroes), attack, speed, and unique. I will list the different bombers based on how they are listed in the game.
BOMBERS
Besides the eight regular bombers who don’t have their own special abilities, we have a few others that you unlock in the story mode.
Magnet Bomber — Place special bombs that get drawn to other characters.
Karaoke Bomber — Place a special bomb that detonates in response to the movement of other characters.
Plasma Bomber — The longer you hold down the button, the longer it takes for these time bombs to detonate.
Golem Bomber — Place an extra, heavy bomb that can't be moved by other characters.
Phantom Bomber — Phantom Bomb — Place up to four phantom bombs.
ATTACK
Simon Belmont — Vampire Killer — Uses a whip to pull in bombs and characters.
Pyramid Head — Judgement — Defeat a character you've come in contact with.
Raiden Bomber — Ninja Run — Allows you to perform consecutive dash strikes that can send characters flying.
Soma Cruz — Characters who come in contact with the bats lose their special ability for a short time.
Suikoden 2 Hero — Twin Fang — Blasts characters and bombs in your area away with a tonfa.
Goemon Bomber — Oedo Blaster — Place as many bombs as possible in front of you.
Luca Blight Bomber — Flamesword — Mow down bombs and blocks around you.
Massive Lugion — A mysterious alien lifeform that uses Photon Circle for their special.
SPEED
Alucard Bomber — Mist — Turn into mist and pass through bombs and blasts.
Bill Bomber — Contra shot — Shoots four squares ahead, erasing bombs and knocking out characters.
Lance Bomber — Contra Burst — Shoots 11 squares ahead, detonating bombs and knocking out characters.
Naked Snake Bomber — Sneaking — Allows you to move without being seen by enemies.
Vic Viper Bomber — Speed Up — Can dash in a straight line.
Richter Bomber — Vampire Killer Blood — Swing a whip to grab onto bombs and characters to move around its axis.
Old Snake Bomberman — Sneaking Silencer — Makes you invisible to enemies for a long time.
Vic Viper Zero — Speed Up — Moves straight forward at a high speed until hitting a block or wall.
Wing Lugion — A mysterious alien lifeform whose special move is Photon Line.
UNIQUE
Robbie the Rabbit — Distortion — Stuns and immobilises characters within range.
Bean Bomber — Jump — Allows you to leap over obstacles.
Bubble Head Bomber — Scream — inflict the Skull effect on yourself.
Princess Tomato — My hero! — Stand next to a nearby character to strengthen them to have them protect you.
Mimi Bomber — Tempo Change Up — Randomly speeds up the bomb counters.
Nyami Bomber — Tempo Change Down — Randomly slows down the bomb counters of surrounding characters.
Shiori Fujiisaki — Stops all nearby characters from moving for a short time.
Fighter Lugion — A mysterious alien lifeform that uses a ranged projectile called the Photon Ball.
I hope you find this information useful, or at least gives you an idea of which character you want to spend your 1000 gems on. It sucks when you buy a character you don’t like and feel like you wasted your time saving up for this new bomber!
