When you picture the hunter, you often imagine a solitary person, rifle in hand, treading through brush or bush, relentlessly following their target. Another aspect you may imagine, though, has been less prevalent in hunting games: dogs! The lack of these four-legged fur balls in the hunting game genre is an understandable concession. theHunter: Call of the Wild, however, has decided to rectify this with the Labrador Retriever DLC.
Yes, you read that right! You can now have your very own doggy to take with you on hunts. In the DLC, you will gain a Labrador Retriever trained to make hunting efficient and effective. With the retrieve ability, your loyal hound will retrieve and harvest your quarry, whether on land or in the water, and bring them to you. Take your new buddy on hunts, give them treats and pets, and improve the bond between you to make them even more efficient!
Your new wagging wrangler can be named, you can select from a selection of coat variations, and you can even specialize them for specific hunting needs. You can even have more than one dog, so you can pick the best pup for your needs.
The Labrador Retriever DLC launches on PC and consoles on 28 November for £4.99 GBP.
