A Quaint 1950s Summer Vacation Visits Vampires in Varney Lake Later Next Month

Varney Lake, the second visual novel from developer LCB Game Studio and publisher Chorus Worldwide is merging mysteries and monsters later next month.

The story involves the paranormal investigator Lou Hill and a case dating back to the Summer of 1954. Can they retrace the steps of three kids’ summer vacation decades ago and discover the truth behind their supposed encounter with a vampire?

Recall the trio’s story via choice-based gameplay and explore the various roads of a branching story. Solve accessible, brain-busting puzzles while learning more about the paranormal investigator himself in a dual-timeline plot and decipher details to finally close a case that’s been left open for nearly 30 years.

Created by novelist Nico Saraintaris and artist Fernando Martinez Ruppel, Varney Lake follows its predecessor, Mothmen 1966, as the second instalment of the Pixel Pups anthology.

We love how differently Varney Lake approaches horror compared to Mothmen 1966. The first Pixel Pulp installment hid its cryptic truths in the dark surrounding woods — Varney Lake hides them in plain sight. We’re so excited for you to see the same macabre Pixel Pulps intrigue presented in a whole new light.

- Shintaro Kanaoya, founder & CEO, Chorus Worldwide

Varney Lake will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on the 28th of April, 2023.
