A Way Out Hits Two Million Copies Sold

Does a game need a big budget and a large team to sell millions of copies? A Way Out seems to suggest otherwise, reaching two million copies sold world-wide.

A Way Out originally released in early 2018, and was developed by Hazelight Studios and published by industry giant EA. Despite controversies surrounding EA in regards to microtransactions and unethical business decisions, A Way Out ended up sticking true to its vision of being a pure co-op game with no extra bells attached.

In A Way Out, players will control Leo and Vincent, two prison convicts who must escape the facility and work together to evade the pursuing law. This involves a variety of scenarios, such as sneaking around undercover and occasionally scraping by during tense shootouts.

While the game has sold two million copies, it’s likely that possibly double that amount of people played the game due to the friend pass free trial, where an owner of the game could gift a friend a copy for free.

A Way Out is currently available for purchase on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
