Access-Ability Showcase 2026: Herdles

Fire Sword Studios and One More Journey's Herdles was featured in this year's Access-Ability Showcase. This vibrant open-world platformer invites players to embody a magical dog as he zooms around various landscapes, tackling challenges, solving puzzles, and discovering secrets!

In the showcase, we got to hear from the small team of just three people about what accessibility features Herdles offers, as they wanted that accessibility to be something implemented in the game's core, not just something added at the end. Here's a quick rundown:

  • The game's controllers never change or evolve.
  • Numerous ways to progress.
  • Puzzles offer hints and even auto-solving.
  • No combat or death, not even by falling from high places.
  • Options to platform snap or ledge guarding, so platforming and jumping is more accessible.
  • High-contrast mode.
  • Sliders for brightness, contrast, saturation.
  • One-handed gaming.
  • Options for motion sickness.
  • Various features that change player movement, such as tweaking jumping or running.
  • Reticle visibility and transparency.
  • FOV changes.
  • The ability to have controls always on screen.
  • Every accessibility setting can be mapped to buttons so they may be toggled.

Last but not least, there is a playtest focused on accessibility beginning today! Players can sign up at the game's official site if they'd like to be part of it and offer feedback. The website also offers the full list of accessibility features!

Herdles is available to wishlist and follow on Steam
