Agony Finally Overcomes Its Censorship Woes (Sort Of)

Agony, Madmin Studios' first person survival horror game set in Hell, was officially released on 29th May after a protracted battle to get the game passed by PEGI, the European videogames ratings board.

Risking being banned outright on consoles if the game was released uncensored, Madmind Studios have had to make some very minor cuts to Agony's content (totalling a few seconds from two out of seven possible endings). They have also had to cancel the planned "Adults Only" patch for the PC version which would have restored the cut content after being threatened with legal action.

However, don't think a few seconds worth of censorship has made the game any less horrific. Featuring everything from graphic and violent sex scenes to exploding baby heads, "genital physics" (okay?), and setting people on fire, Agony is still the vile, Hellish game the developers wanted it to be from the outset. And if you really need to know what you're missing out on, you can always watch the video Madmind plan to release showing off the censored material anyway.

Agony is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
