Developers of the sandbox MMORPG Albion Online recently came out with new details about the game's upcoming "faction warfare" feature, which will go live with the upcoming Merlyn Update.
Faction warfare pits players against rival cities on Albion's royal continent in open-world PvP battles. Guilds will be introduced to the game, but players don't have to be in a guild to enjoy the new features. Solo and otherwise guildless players will be able to participate as well. Not only will new faction standing and killboards will be implemented to track the progress of the ongoing battles, but new resources, items, and even mounts are being implemented in the game as rewards for participation.
Players will be able to win city heart fragments, currency related to their chosen faction that will be used in crafting new faction-related items. Faction capes and even special mounts will also become available.
