Animal Crossing: New Horizons Adds New Content in Free 2.0 Update and Gets a Paid DLC

In a new Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct, Nintendo revealed that the game will be getting a big free content update and a paid DLC called Happy Home Paradise on 5th November.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Free 2.0 Update

Animal Crossing: New Horizon's free content update will arrive on 5th November. The 2.0 version will be the last free content update coming to the game and will include new characters, activities and much more.

The 2.0 update is adding Brewster’s Cafe, The Roost. It will open inside the game’s museum and players can purchase coffee from Brewster at any time of the day. You may see other island residents there or you can invite other people to the cafe using Amiibo figures or cards.

Another character returning to the game is Kapp’n. Players can find Kapp’n by the island pier and he can take players to different mysterious islands. The new islands may have new flora or different seasons or time of day. Kapp’n will also be singing his sea shanties, which is enough reason for some to take a ride with him.

Harv’s island is also undergoing some changes. Harriet, the hairdresser from previous Animal Crossing games is helping Harv to turn the island into an open market. Players can donate Bells that will help build shops for Saharah and Kicks. Reese and Cyrus will also have a stall and can customise your furniture in new ways. Katrina, the fortune teller and Tortimer, the mayor will also be there on Harv’s island. Harriet, the hairdresser will be able to create new hairstyles for players.

Players can partake in a new Group Stretching activity that will be available using the tape deck in their island's plaza. The activity will allow players to physically participate and stretch in real life when playing with Joy Con controllers.

There is also an updated camera app ‘Pro Camera App’ which will be available on the NookPhone. Players can use this to view their islands from a first-person perspective. They can snap photos of the scenery and villagers. Players can also set up a tripod to take a picture of themselves.

Players can also grow different types of crops and use them to create new DIY cooking recipes. There are a lot of other new features which include expanding your maximum storage capacity, build new kinds of fences, add ceiling lights, and much more.

To see all of the new content being added to the update, make sure to check out the video presentation attached at the top of the page.
